A little girl lived alone with her mother. They scrimped by, living day to day on her mother’s meager wages from waitressing.

The little girl loved her mother and wanted to give her a gift for her birthday. She went to a nearby pawn shop where she saw a string of pearls in the jewelry case. She had no idea of their value, but asked the owner of the store if she could buy them for her mother. He asked how much she had. The little girl emptied her pockets. There were three quarters, three dimes, two nickels, and one penny. The owner took pity on the girl and sold her the pearls.

The next day, the little girl’s irate mother came storming into the pawn shop, demanding to know how much her daughter had paid for the pearls. The owner replied, “All that she had.”

God has given all that He has, and He wants you to know that He loves you.

John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.”
