STOP AND THINK – One of the most encouraging things about new years, new weeks, and new days is the word “new.” (Charles Swindoll, American pastor and author)

This is the final week of 2013. Soon, we’ll be trying to remember to put “14” instead of “13” on our letters and checks. Perhaps there are other changes awaiting us in the New Year, but as Swindoll suggests, we should be encouraged by the fact that it’s “new.” Gone are the old days; gone is the past. We enter a new era with prospects of change for the good.

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (2 Corinthians 5:17)
