STOP AND THINK – We’re in the land of the dying, preparing for the land of the living. (Heard at a Christian funeral)

When a friend or loved one passes on, we begin to think more about death. Otherwise, it’s a subject we prefer to ignore. But it’s a startling statement, isn’t it? We will all die—that’s part of the human experience. Death is to be followed by “the judgment,” according to the Bible. It would be wise to prepare for what follows: forever life for the people of God.

Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt. (Daniel 12:2)
