STOP AND THINK – Feelings of worth can flourish only in an atmosphere . . . that is found in a nurturing family. (Virginia Satir, 20th century American author and social worker)

Satir described this atmosphere as one “where individual differences are appreciated, mistakes are tolerated, communication is open, and rules are flexible.” There is a lot of emphasis today on self-worth and self-image, and, perhaps, the best place to create and sustain such worth is in a family where such values are lived out and love flourishes.

Be devoted to one another in love; honor one another above yourselves. (Romans 12:10)
