The roads in our woods are typical—there are rocks and roots to stumble over. Sometimes they are in plain sight, and other times they are covered in leaves or snow. I do a couple of things to keep from stumbling. First, I pay attention. Second, I use a walking stick. Third, I wear boots to protect my ankles.

My faith walk is similar. Temptations are stumbling blocks that are everywhere. So what should we do? First, be aware of the temptations. Second, walk with fellow believers who can help you. Third, protect yourself with prayer and reading God’s Word.

Jeremiah 13:16 “Give glory to the Lord your God before he brings the darkness, before your feet stumble on the darkening hills.”
