Jesus Speaks: Killing Jesus

Jesus was sent by God over 2,000 years ago to visit earth. What He said was recorded by eyewitnesses in the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John in the Bible. This is what Jesus foretold about His death.

Listen, we’re going up to Jerusalem, where all the predictions of the prophets concerning the Son of Man will come true.[1]Luke 18:31 NLT

Now the time has come for the Son of Man to enter into his glory.[2]John 12:23 NLT

Listen carefully: Unless a [kernel] of wheat is buried in the ground, dead to the world, it is never any more than a [kernel] of wheat. But if it is buried, it sprouts and reproduces itself many times over. In the same way, anyone who holds on to life just as it is destroys that life.[3]John 12:25 MSG

Its death will produce many new kernels—a plentiful harvest of new lives.[4]John 12:25 NLT

When we get there, the Son of Man will be betrayed to the religious leaders and scholars. They will sentence him to death. They will then hand him over to the Romans for mockery and torture and crucifixion. On the third day, he will be raised up alive.[5]Matthew 20:18-19 MSG
