Peace

Peace is the ability to wait patiently in spite of panic brought on by uncertainty. (Chuck Swindoll, pastor, author)

In a time of war and distress we think of peace as the lack of war and strife. In personal disputes it may simply be a respite between quarrels. Swindoll suggests a new dimension. We’ve all had times of apprehension as we awaited the unknown. For most of us, to have peace of mind in times like that is very difficult. But the Bible offers a solution.

Jesus: “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” (John 14:27)
