Idols

We Become What We Worship (Book title)

Greg Beale writes: “What people revere, they resemble, either for ruin or restoration.” Most of us would probably resist the thought that we are idolaters. We don’t bow down to stone or wooden statues or make animal sacrifices. Yet, when we consider how much time and effort we spend on possessions, sports, or entertainment, maybe we should give it another thought.

Those who cling to worthless idols turn away from God’s love for them (Jonah 2:8).
