Quiet Time

If we only stimulate our children . . . that’s not good. A sense of solitude is one of the most beautiful things a parent can give a child. (Henri Nouwen, 20th century spiritual writer)

With the widespread use of tablets and digital game boards among children, there is almost constant stimulation of their brain. Coupled with the lack of physical activity, today’s children are often developing serious physical, emotional, and learning problems. Nouwen’s advice to parents should be taken seriously. Help your children develop times of quiet meditation.

Then Jesus said, “Let’s go off by ourselves to a quiet place and rest awhile (Mark 6:31).
