Worship

It’s better to sit in a bar thinking about God than in church thinking about beer. (African saying)

It may sound trite, but it is a challenging observation. Do we sometimes find ourselves sitting in a church service with our minds drafting into areas of thought and memory that are completely unrelated to the importance of the moment? It’s far better to enter into a worship service expectantly, enjoying the blessing of our active participation in the worship.

Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name . . . worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness (1 Chronicles 16:29).
