April Fool’s Day

It is the peculiar quality of a fool to perceive the faults of others and to forget his own. (Cicero)

People probably don’t want to act like a fool, but sometimes they act foolishly or make foolish decisions. Cicero’s comment is a reminder that we all can act like fools when we judge others and criticize what we see as their faults. How foolish we  are to ignore our own failures, while pointing out someone else’s.

And why worry about a speck in your friend’s eye when you have a log in your own? (Matthew 7:3)
