Backward or Forward?
No one really needs a leader to go backward. (Allistar Begg, pastor & author)
This obvious observation is worthy of more thought. After all, as Begg further suggests, “You can just go back.” How often have you decided that moving forward was too difficult or just not worth the effort, so you turned around and went back? Begg observes, “We need leaders to push us forward.” If you’re tempted to go back, look for someone to challenge you to “go for it!”
Teach me to do your will, for you are my God. May your gracious Spirit lead me forward on a firm footing. (Psalm 143:10)
