Gratitude

To be grateful is to recognize the love of God in everything. (Thomas Merton, late theologian)

It’s easy to see God’s hand in the good things that happen to us, for example, the birth of a healthy baby, meeting and enjoying new friends, or experiencing a healthy recovery from illness. But life isn’t always like that. It’s a difficult but valuable lesson to learn that even times of suffering in life can be amazing periods of growth and maturing.

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. (Romans 8:28)
