Straight Dealing

Never bend your head. Always hold it high. Look the world straight in the eye. (Helen Keller, 19th 20th century American author & educator)

What a challenging comment from the remarkable Keller who became blind at 19 months. Even though she couldn’t “look anyone straight in the eye” physically, she understood what it is to be forthright and direct in conversation. In a day of too much fraud and deceit, how transforming it would be if we accepted her challenge in all our relationships.

The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light (Matthew 6:22).
