Adversity

Our character is determined not by our circumstances but by our reaction to those circumstances. (Charles Colson, founder of Prison Fellowship)

Adversity strikes all of us sooner or later. It’s a universal part of human experience. We can’t always prepare for it, so how do we handle tough situations when they arise? When we’re under them, circumstances can smother us like being under a mattress rather than on top of it. But, if we face them with patience and determination, we may discover they are helpful stepping stones.

The Lord to the Apostle Paul: “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9).
