God of Hope

Despite their desires, the lazy will come to ruin, for their hands refuse to work. . . . Work hard and become a leader (Proverbs 21:25; 12:24).

We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance (Romans 5:3).

Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think (Romans 12:2).

Don’t put it off; do it now! Don’t rest until you do (Proverbs 6:4).

You have allowed me to suffer much hardship, but you will restore me to life again and lift me up from the depths of the earth (Psalm 71:20).

[God] comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us (2 Corinthians 1:3-4).

I have not achieved [perfection], but.., I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God… is calling us (Philippians 3:12-13).

Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others (Colossians 3:13).

Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise (Hebrews 10:23).

I am sure that the good work God began in you will continue until he completes it on the day when Jesus Christ comes again (Philippians 1:6).
