God of Hope

Make allowance for each other’s faults and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others (Colossians 3:13).

A friend is always loyal, and a brother is born to help in time of need . . . There are “friends” who destroy each other, but a real friend sticks closer than a brother. (Proverbs 17:17; 18:24)

Whoever learns from correction is wise . . . Intelligent people are always ready to learn. Their ears are open for knowledge. (Proverbs 15:5; 18:15)

Since everything God created is good, we should not reject any of it but receive it with thanks (1 Timothy 4:4).

Look straight ahead and fix your eyes on what lies before you (Proverbs 4:25).

The Lord said to Samuel, “. . . The Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. (1 Samuel 16:7).

Love is not jealous or . . .  rude. Love never gives up . . . and endures through every circumstance (1 Corinthians 13:4, 5, 7).

Make it your goal to live a quiet life . . .  working with your hands, just as we instructed you before (1 Thessalonians 4:11).

The words of the godly encourage many, (Proverbs 10:21). Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them (Ephesians 4:29).

Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed (Proverbs 16:3). So, prepare your minds for action (1 Peter 1:13).

Joyful is the person who finds wisdom, the one who gains understanding. The life of the godly is full of light and joy (Proverbs 3:13; 13:9).

For you have been called to live in freedom . . .  But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love (Galatians 5:13).
