We have all heard the term “environmental footprint” or “carbon footprint” used over the last several years.  It has become mainstream to look at how our lives and the way that we live them impact the environment. There is nothing wrong with being great stewards of the world we live in and with the resources we have been entrusted too.  In fact, that is the right thing to do.

Unfortunately what has not become mainstream but is far more important is looking at our eternal footprint.  This time here on earth is temporary, our resources here are temporary, and while we should care for it while we are here and think of future generations, we also have to look at the eternal future of our lives and those that we come in contact with.

For those of you that believe in an eternal life after death in heaven, then I ask you, “What are you doing to make a positive eternal footprint?”  It is easy to see a dirty river, an overflowing landfill, or an expensive utility bill and feel guilty or convicted to make a change.  What is harder to visualize are the effects if we don’t take action to change our eternal footprint.

We all have the opportunity to do something that will outlive our life here.   What is it going to take for us to DO SOMETHING?
