Now, if you are animal lovers, I need to apologize to you. My two dogs, Wally and Charlie, are quite the hunters. Their focus is mainly on ground hogs, squirrels, and a few muskrats. More often than not, Charlie will want to haul his prize back to the house. I make them leave the dead in the woods.

It occurs to me that I should also leave my “dead things” behind—past failures, past hurts, past sins. When I drag these dead things around behind me, they keep me from straining forward and experiencing the real joys of life.

Philippians 3:13 “But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead. I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me.”
