As I walk through the woods with the dogs, there are roots and stones over which I can stumble and lose my balance.
It is a great advantage to have a walking stick because it helps me keep my balance. It also helps to clear the path, break through spider webs, and navigate over streams.
In my spiritual walk, I need friends to help me keep my balance—brothers and sisters to lean on when things get rough, to help clear the path ahead. I would not want to go through life without good friends.
Proverbs 18:24 “One who has unreliable friends can come to ruin, but one needs a friend who sticks closer than a brother.”
