If I get angry while I am walking and whack my stick across a log or rock, it breaks. I’m not sure what I am trying to prove, and usually it’s not very important. And what have I accomplished? Nothing. I have ruined a perfectly good walking stick.
Anger is a scary emotion for me, and more often than not it comes out directed at the wrong person or at God. I am trying to learn to search myself for the root of my anger and ask God to help me through it so I don’t do something I will regret later.
Ecclesiastes 7:9 “Don’t be quick to fly off the handle. Anger boomerangs. You can spot a fool by the lumps on his head.” (MSG)
