God promises a safe landing, not a calm passage. (From a quotations blog)
It’s a simple and encouraging statement, but the promise has a prerequisite. Unless we have a faith relationship with God, we can’t claim that promise. So, we begin by reading God’s Word and committing ourselves to His guidance. True, the journey may not be smooth, but it’s through those tough times we can learn to persevere and depend upon God’s care.
. . . when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing (James 1:3, 4).
