Character

The proper time to influence the character of a child is about a hundred years before he’s born. (William R. Inge, 19th-20th century Anglican priest and author)

It’s extremely difficult to develop good character as an adult, isn’t it? Both positive and negative character traits are acquired over time, beginning in the nursery. If we want the coming generations to be persons of sterling character, we must identify and discourage the negative traits and encourage the positive characteristics that begin in childhood.

Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it (Proverbs 22:6).
