Remember, when you were a child, how you looked forward to a long planned vacation trip? Sometimes, the reality wasn’t nearly as much fun as the anticipation. But Smiles was speaking of good planning and effort that almost guarantees a good result. He continued: “our desires being often but precursors of the things which we are capable of performing.”
