God of Hope

I know all the things you do. I have seen your love, your faith, your service, and your patient endurance. And I can see your constant improvement in all these things (Revelation 2:19).

Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see. . . . By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God’s command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen (Hebrews 11:1, 3).

In the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you  (Matthew 7:2). 

You should remember the words of the Lord Jesus: “It is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35).

My conscience is clear, but that doesn’t prove I’m right. It is the Lord himself who will examine me and decide (1 Corinthians 4:4).

The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed (Proverbs 11:25).

Throw yourself into your tasks so that everyone will see your progress. Keep a close watch on how you live and on your teaching (1 Timothy 4:15-16).

How we thank God for all of this! It is he who makes us victorious through Jesus Christ our Lord! (1 Corinthians 15:57)

If I must boast, I would rather boast about the things that show how weak I am (2 Corinthians 11:30).

Since everything God created is good, we should not reject any of it but receive it with thanks (1 Timothy 4:4).

Give me happiness, O Lord, for I give myself to you. . . . Make me walk along the path of your commands, for that is where my happiness is found (Psalm 86:4; 119:35).

The godly give good advice to their friends . . . The heartfelt counsel of a friend is as sweet as perfume and incense (Proverbs 12:26; 27:9).
