Friends 2
Make new friends but keep the old. One is silver, the other is gold. A circle is round it has no end, that’s how long I want to be your friend! (From a children’s song)
We are often reminded that wedding rings are circles, representing vows that, like a circle, are to be unending. Unfortunately, some marriages don’t last like some friendships, but that is never the plan. In both cases, it takes more than intention. It requires continual attention to one another and the constant gracious effort to preserve the love that cements the relationship.
Love is patient and kind . . . It does not demand its own way. It . . . never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful (1 Corinthians 13:4, 5, 7).
